Children's Ministry at Abilene
Your children are always welcome at Abilene. Our children's ministry is
called ABLAZE, which is an acronym for Accepting, Believing, and Living in
a Zone of Excitement for Him. During worship, child care is provided for children from birth through four years of age. There is a check-in area for
the children and parents near the nursery. A greeter can help you find your way to the check-in area. To help ease your mind, pagers are given to
parents so you can be reached if needed. If you prefer to have your
children with you during worship, that is fine with us.
Children in kindergarten through 2nd grade will be provided a worship bag
with items for their use during the service, such as crayons, coloring book, children's bulletin, etc. This bag will have their name on it, and they will receive their same bag each week when they arrive for worship. Some
items in the bag can be taken home (such as their bulletin) and some
items will be left in the bag from week to week (such as their crayons).
At the end of the service, children simply leave their bag on the pew and
it will be collected and prepared for the next week's service.
When children reach the third grade, they "graduate" from ABLAZE and receive their worship bag filled with items to help them grow in their relationship with Christ. We welcome your family to worship with us at
Abilene. If you have any questions or comments regarding the ABLAZE Children's Ministry, contact Stephanie Holloway at stephanie_r_holloway@yahoo.com.
